Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Hollow Wise handles information when you use our public website and app. You can use the free Quick Clean routines without an account. Saving rooms, routines, household details, and progress across visits requires signing in.

Without signing in

Hollow Wise creates a random identifier in your browser's session storage and sends it with anonymous Quick Clean requests. The product database can use that identifier to keep your routine progress for the visit. It is not linked to a name or email address and is not automatically moved into an account if you later sign in. Closing the tab clears the identifier from your browser, so that browser can no longer retrieve the visit through that identifier.

Account and sign-in information

You can sign in with Google or with a one-time email link — no password either way. Signing in stores your email address and, if you choose Google, Google's internal account identifier. Hollow Wise does not receive your Google password. The server stores an account record, hashed session tokens, and sign-in timestamps so it can recognize your account across visits.

Account-linked product information

When you are signed in, Hollow Wise stores product information under your account. This can include room names and types; quiz answers; routine eligibility, suggestions, schedules, progress, and completion history; custom routines, tasks, conditions, and notes; cleaning-supply lists and audit settings; submitted room-type suggestions; the amount of routine guidance you explicitly choose; and other support preferences you explicitly choose. Your routine-guidance choice is private to your account and follows that account across signed-in devices.

Household information is also stored on the server for signed-in accounts. This can include age range, household size, whether you have pets or children, a private support note, household-member display names, invitations, account links, and task assignments. The private note is stored as text you wrote; Hollow Wise does not automatically interpret or classify it.

Information kept in your browser

The browser keeps interface preferences such as resume wording and whether a daily capacity check-in has already appeared. Signed-out Quick Clean uses Full routine guidance and does not save a guidance choice. A household profile entered while signed out may also remain in local storage. Clearing this site's browser data removes these browser-held copies; it does not delete information already saved to a signed-in account on the server.

Cookies

Signing in sets a secure, HttpOnly session cookie containing a random token. The server stores only the token's hash. The cookie lasts up to 30 days or until you sign out. Google sign-in also uses a temporary return-path cookie that lasts up to 10 minutes. Hollow Wise does not set advertising or analytics cookies.

Handoffs and linked households

When you create a Handoff or household invitation, the server stores a hash of the private access token, not the token itself, along with the shared routine or invitation, its expiry, assignments, responses, and completed steps. A recipient can choose to link a household-member entry to their own Hollow Wise account. The product database does not add a recipient's IP address or device information to Handoff responses or completed steps.

Service providers

Cloudflare hosts the website, app, product database, and one-time email delivery, so its infrastructure processes requests needed to provide those services. Google receives and processes information only if you choose Google sign-in; Hollow Wise requests your verified email and Google account identifier. The current app has no advertising or analytics integration, and Hollow Wise does not sell personal information.

Private beta testing

Approved beta testers may receive testing assignments and submit written findings, private evidence, and follow-up information. During an explicitly active assignment, Hollow Wise may record the named product pages the tester visits and the controls they press. It does not record typing, passwords, answers, notes, private form contents, cookies, sign-in tokens, or request contents. Pausing or finishing the assignment stops this limited activity collection.

Beta evidence is available only to its tester and the private Beta Review area. Evidence is scheduled for deletion 30 days after the report's latest resolution. Reopening the report cancels that deadline; resolving it again starts a new 30-day period. Written feedback may remain as a testing record. If a tester deletes their account, beta access is revoked, their evidence is placed into private deletion, identifying membership information is removed, and retained written feedback is labeled "Deleted tester."

Account deletion and privacy requests

The signed-in account menu includes a "Delete my account" control. After confirmation, it deletes the account, its active sessions, and product data stored under that account, then signs the browser out. Shared information owned by another account is not silently deleted: if your account is linked to another person's household, deleting your account removes that account link, while the other account can keep its household-member display name and shared Handoff completion history.

Email sign-in requests create separate records containing the email address, a hash of the one-time token, and request, expiry, and use timestamps. The link expires after 15 minutes, but the current in-app account-deletion control does not delete those separate sign-in-request records. Children

Hollow Wise is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
